2011 Mongoose Tyax Elite – ideal beginners mountain bike
All in all, it’s a solid bike with hydraulic disc brakes and fairly good components which for its value and if well maintained will serve you well. A perfect bike for beginners who want to get into mountain biking, but not for an experienced bikers who want to get into racing.
The Mongoose Tyax Elite comes with Tektro Hydraulic disc brakes and 160mm rotors which give it good controlled stopping power. Overall it is a great bike for its value and is one of the ten best mountain bikes under $500 that you can buy.
