2011 Specialized Hardrock Disc –  the most versatile hardtail for kicking around town

An entry level bike from Specialized, the Hardrock comes with the same quality features as more expensive Specialized models. This bike has an avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes with 160mm G2 Clean Sweep rotors giving it good controlled stopping power. Lightweight and durable, the Hardrock is one of the ten best mountain bikes under $500 that you can buy, also keep an eye out for its bigger brother the Rockhopper as they can be found for around $500 on special. As far as good mountain bikes go this is a great entry level bike.
